FIA Formula E Powered by Electricity… and Social Media!

By on Sep 2, 2014 in Social Media | 0 comments

The world of motorsports has a new race series. The FIA has officially announced a new series that will be powered completely by electric vehicles. Not hybrid with some gas being burned, but totally electric. It is called FIA Formula E!

Now that is pretty cool news in itself. But the really exciting part for us is that the new race series will have a HUGE social media element to it. Fans will actually be encouraged to use social media and vote for their favorite drivers during the race. How does this really make life interesting you ask?!? Well, the driver that gets the most mentions (aka LOVE) during the race will get an added element of boost on the last lap that should help them overtake other drivers in a bid to jump up the finishing race order.

Here is where you can start giving virtual support for your favorite FIA Formula E driver:
FIA Formula E coming to Long Beach, California

If you are based in the US or are planning a trip to the West Coast of California next April, then definitely consider attending the Long Beach, CA FIA Formula E event. The all electric powered race will use the road course that the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach has used for years. It is an amazing street circuit that winds through the streets of the tourist area of Long Beach. The race cars run along Shoreline Drive, around the famous Long Beach aquarium and then back by the LB Convention Center. A street course that even the pickiest motorsport fan can find a phenomenal vantage point to watch all the action.

The new all electric race series, with the namesake of FIA Formula E, is a novel concept that will surely survive the rigors of motorsports and racing fandom. Be sure to see if a race is coming to your area, and if not, at least help determine the outcome of a Formula E race by voting up your favorite driver. Besto fo luck to all the new teams and drivers in the FIA Formula E series.
